America's most versatile crossover is finally receiving some recognition. The Dodge Journey was named to Road & Travel Magazine's top picks in the crossover/SUV category for 2012 cars. The Journey was also listed under the magazine's top 10 vehicles in its 2012 SUV Buyer's Guide.
"With so many new innovative SUVs from which to choose each year, it's always a challenge for Road & Travel Magazine editors to agree on which will make the final cut for RTM's annual SUV Buyer's Guide Top 10 Picks," said Courtney Caldwell, Road & Travel's editor-in-chief, in a press release. "The 2012 Dodge Journey was one of our first and unanimous choices for being such a family functional, well-built and attractive SUV."
The Journey has been selling at an all-time high the past couple of months, currently up 42 percent this year compared to the 2011 model. The company saw a 58 percent increase during the month of August, which set a new all-time sales record for the Journey. This is the fifth time in seven months that the Journey has either set or tied a new all-time record for sales.
The Journey has been highly praised by critics and buyers a like for its storage capacity, technological advances for a car, and the overall design for such a decent price. The Journey can carry up to seven people without them being cramped in, while still having enough space for storage throughout the car. The car includes a front passenger in-seat bin and dual rear seat floor bins.
The car can get up to 26 miles per gallon on the high way, and offers interested buyers a choice of purchasing a four-cylinder or a V-6, something no other cross over offers.
"The Dodge Journey continues to gain momentum in the marketplace, becoming the fastest growing crossover in the U.S., and the ultimate utility infielder," said Reid Bigland, President and CEO, Dodge Brand in a press release. "With class-leading storage, the ability to seat seven and the choice of front- or all-wheel drive, no other vehicle offers such a combination of versatility, style and value, starting at just $18,995."
The Journey has been rated an IIHS Top Safety Pick for four years in a row as well.
We had heard good things about this dealership and went to see what they had available in their used inventory. It was raining and not an ideal day to look at vehicles. Needless to say the saleman didn't like the idea of getting out in the rain. After sharing our needs, he showed us one vehicle, gave us a business card and basically told us to have a nice day. Most people don't go car shopping in the rain unless they want to buy... needless to say we went down the road and purchased a vehicle from a dealer that wasn't overly concerned with getting a little wet.Used Jeep
